Who is the first smiling face you see when you come through the doors? Well if you are at Clermont Park it is very likely that person will be Jennifer Young.
Jennifer is a longtime associate of Christian Living Communities and Clermont Park. Jen is closely associated with the history of Clermont Park as a fellow Dutchwomen and is a member of the First Christian Reformed Church. Can you believe her early adulthood dentist is a resident at Clermont Park!? She brings with her the knowledge and the history of the community, as well as being the best go-to person in the building!
Here is what Jen has to say about her time here at Clermont Park:
“I began working for Christian Living Communities in September of 2005 as a home companion with Home Care Services. This opportunity came to me after working part time a dozen years as an office assistant for my church. My experience as a home companion was very rewarding as it gave me new insight to my appreciation for elders.
In 2011 I was given the opportunity to apply for the concierge position here at Clermont Park. Having not worked full time for over 25 years, I wasn’t sure if this was the right decision. Little did I know that this is where God wanted me to be! Working at the concierge desk can be challenging, if not harried, but the blessings very much outweigh anything else! Greeting guests, fielding phone calls, assisting residents with tablet challenges, keeping the coffee station filled, and numerous other guest services occupy my day, but what makes my day fulfilling is listening to the rich stories residents have to share.
The best- or worst-kept secret of being at Clermont Park is that I work with my brother, Ray Mannes, who has worked in Facility Services for over 25 years. It’s fun ordering my brother around!
I am extremely blessed to be part of the Clermont Park team!”
Part of Jen’s charm is her gracious and modest attitude. We are certainly privileged and blessed to have her at our community.
