Striking a Chord with Music Therapy Sessions

July 13, 2021

Clermont Park team member Lauren Hewitt leads individual and group music therapy sessions for residents while pursuing her license through the Certification Board for Music Therapists. Including songs by The Beatles, Hank Williams, and Rodgers and Hammerstein, Hewitt’s music sessions evoke emotion and connection as residents sing, play instruments and recall moments and memories associated with each song.

Music therapy is an effective tool to improve a person’s well-being through communication, social interaction, physical movement, cognitive thinking, tapping into emotions and providing spiritual fulfillment.”
